Smile Sweet things!

What are some things that you do for your significant other, because you know they enjoy it? You know, those things that you do just because it brings a smile to their face.

I took a small pad of post-it notes and wrote "I like you"* or some variation there-of on each page. I'm spreading them around so that she finds them throughout her day. Or I carry them in my pocket and will randomly stick one on her shirt (not on the back), so that it makes her smile.

I write her letters while I'm at work. It might be a short note about what we did the night before, or reasons why I like her so, or how come she's so special to me. Just something to show that I'm thinking about her.

I wrote one note, with tally marks about how many times I thought about her through the day. I got a dirty look when it only had a single mark on it. Once I explained, that I would have to quit thinking about her to have more than one mark, she liked it quite a bit better.

I try to stop and pick a wild flower on the way to visit her, or to be waiting when she comes over. (This is when it's good to live out in the country.)

Whenever we eat at my place, I try to have the candles out (I keep some tea candles just for this reason, $1 for 20 or so of them), and dim the lights. Just because it's pasta and sauce doesn't mean it's not special. It's the company, not the food.

* We say "I like you" instead.

When I stop at the gas station on the way home (for gas or cigarettes or whatever) I always get my husband a cappuccino because he loves coffee so much. I also rent video games and movies he wants without telling him ahead of time. Also, since my hubby is in police academy, I set aside time every day to help him study.

Taking the "I like you" post-it notes to the next level, she's out of town till tomorrow evening sometime, so I'm sitting here writing a bunch of post-it's, and I'll go over to her place here in a bit and post them all over her room, to surprise her when she gets home.
