I think the first question varies a lot on the individual; and at the time you ask a person. You ask me now and I may say someone who I have a good time with, someone whose company I can enjoy, that I can talk to easily and feel connected with. Later, it may be someone who I know can support me, who can be there for me ... and so forth ... The second question is hard to answer because it's hard to understand. "Real" man or "real" woman? What is that supposed to mean? |

This is what I was looking for (and have found) in my woman. Who I'd like to meet: I'm not looking for a physical relationship, there are those waiting if I so desired. I want someone to spend time with, to be friends and perhaps it will develop into a romantic relationship. I'm looking for a woman to be my... Best friend Joke-sharer Co-conspirator Movie watcher-wither Travelling companion Co-adventurer Someone who will... (and who I can do the same for) Push me toward my goals Help me grow and expand my horizons Support me when I need it (and who knows when to give me my space) Have a ready hug and smile and a shoulder to cry on when each is needed Tell me when I'm being an idiot Someone who I can... Be cute for Make smile/laugh So my ideal woman would have these features: kind/loving good sense of humor enjoys life intelligent be better than I deserve push me when I need it loves children close to God not worried about physical things, stuff even after 40 years, will still surprise me, something new to learn adventerous sense of wonder classy lady Southern Lady (which includes that steely sweetness that can be found running through generations of southern womanhood) |

As to the definition of a "real" man or woman... Hmm... -strokes chin thoughtfully- I strive to be self-confident. Enough so that I can admit when I don't know, or when I am wrong, or when I need help. I want to be more concerned with the well being of others, helping those I can. Be aware of my strength (not just physical) and consciously use that strength/abilites to help others. I guess that is my idea of a man. For a woman it would be the female version of that. Self-confident, enough to ask for help and admit being wrong and lack of knowledge. Be concerned about others, and help them when possible. nospoon - What about you? What are you looking for in a date/mate? How would you define a real man/woman? Last edited by Froldt; 02-13-2007 at 06:05 AM.. |
