| Need to get fit... no motivation?
A few years back I was going to the gym 3 to 4 days a week, I was in good shape and was quite fit. I got lazy and stopped going, I'm now out of shape and nowhere near as fit as I was back then. I regret stopping, and would love to get back into it, but I can't find the motivation to actually go and do it. Anyone feel this way about getting fit? Or am I just a lazy bastard? I think it's just that when I think about going and doing it, it seems boring and I'd rather be doing something more entertaining (usually playing games, surfing the net, watching movies... you know, lazy ****), and I just can't get off my ass to go out and get fit. Maybe I need to look into other ways to get fit, because the gym doesn't really appeal anymore. What are some things I could look at? I've thought about going swimming every night, or buying myself a bike and going bike riding every night... but at the moment there's money constraints stopping me. I need to find something I enjoy that will get me into shape... I need suggestions |

Ah, motivation can be be the hardest part! Think of the rewards, like a carrot dangling in front of a horse haha!! Run and work towards a goal... the hard part is one doesn't even see immediate results, so try working out with a friend who will encourage you to stay fit.

Hello Jim Beam, Great Post on Motivation! Nowadays motivation is quite necessary! The word "motivation" is often used to describe certain sorts of behaviour. A student who studies hard and tries for top grades may be described as being "highly motivated", while her friend may say that he is "finding it hard to get motivated" to study for an exam or to start an assignment. Such statements imply that motivation has a major influence on our behaviour but they don't really tell us how. ______________________________________________ Transform Your Life Through Dreams right here- Dreamlife Discovery! |

I personally think that the main reason we have no motivation is because we HATE to workout ALONE. Bring a friend... I know you have someone who can do it with you. I wanted to get a subscription at a gym because I too am in the same position as you, but I was thinking whether I'd actually be going... then my friend said he has a subscription there so I thought to myself, "GREAT! I'll def. go now." Also think of how after working so hard and long, the results will be amazing n the opposite sex loves it! |

Ahhhh...the old "no motivation" reason. I've struggled with that for years and finally one day decided, enough is enough! For me, because I had kids late in life, I wanted to stay fit and strong enough to be around for them. I'm sure you'll find something that'll make you get back in shape. Maybe you have a friend and you could both work out together?
