How to reconnect with a best friend

For the past few months I've hardly seen my best friend. He's been extremely busy with school, and work, and other crap he's involved with. Lately, we can go days without talking. He spends a lot of his time off with new friends. I tried talking to him about this, and he agreed that we didn't seem as close anymore. We're drifting further and further apart. What can we do?

I've done this with my best friend before. I usually just call him up, if he doesn't call me first, when I have some free time! We can catch up, and hopefully schedule a time to get together. It's never too late - pick up that phone!

And you've just inspired me to call my friend. Haven't talked to him in weeks

I've been out of high school for 3 years and since then have had very limited contact with my friends from there. I still consider one of them my best friend, even if we do only talk every blue moon. So I know how you feel, but you don't need to feel like you are losing your best friend. If you want to see him more, just call him and organise to get together.

Re: How to reconnect with a best friend

If the truly is your best friend and he seems to have gotten busy, the first thing you need to do is accept the fact that your communication time will go down. That doesn't say anything about how you feel for each other. So, do make the first move to call ant catch up but know that it can't be like old times.

Do you think about each other each day? Sometimes it is impossible to spend time or communicate. But as long as you think about each other, the relationship remains live.

Re: How to reconnect with a best friend

I think its time to move on.

During the course of our lives our friends change. As someone once said "Every time you say Good Bye, part of you dies. But when you say Hello, part of you is born again"

You need to say "Good Bye", so that you can say "Hello" again.

Thats the circle of life!
