| My Grandfather, kinda
I never met either of my grandfathers, the one on my father side died when I was about 2 and on my mothers side he died when my mom was 15. Now, I don't really see why I would have any reason to miss either of them, but my grandfather that was on my mothers side, aparently was a very likable guy. Any time I go to a familly reunion I hear my aunts, uncles grandmother, talk about what a great guy he was, and how mcuh I would have liked him, and how everyone liked him. Really, it makes me depressed as hell. I never met him, I just go off on the words of others, and really, really miss him. I don't know if someone else has run into this situation, but how should one deal with this?

It may seem strange to miss someone you've never met, but this is a common occurence, specifically for people in the same situation as yourself. I also never met any of my grandfathers and I relate to exactly what you're saying. I really wish I could have met one of them, but I find the best way to keep them alive is to live with their memories that I hear from other family members.

I can totally agree with what you're saying! I really miss my grandma even though she died before I was brn. She was really influential on my mother and I wish I could have heard all her great stories, but thankfully they were passed down through her daughter (my mom)!
