When is a good age to have kids?

I have an uncle in his late 40s. He has never married (and no, he is not gay!) and has no kids. Was chatting to him last night and he is quite sad abou that. He says that he never planned on not being a dad, its just the way things turned out. Never met the right woman ay the right time. His current girlfriend was previously married, has 2 kids and doesn't want anymore.

When do you think its the right time to have kids?

I'd say in your late 20s, early 30s. That way you still get to do things (like travel overseas, start a career etc) before kids arrive, but you won't be too old to enjoy them. You can also get to ewnjoy your older years (after 50 or so) without having to support them.
