Finish this poem

Rules are simple:
Follow the poem
Don't get off track
No rhyme scheme is necissary but if you want to rhyme go right ahead

It's kind of like finishing a story, but I want a true plot to this poem, let it have some meaning when you fill in your part of the poem.

Here's the setting:
Girl-Esmerelda
Boy-Wakka
Time/Place-Present/New Zealand

They've never met, but there is love at first sight.

As dancing rays of sunlight bounced across sand
moistened by a receding tide
Dawn stretched over a blue horizon and
Wakka still slept inside
