Balancing Two Friends

So I have two friends. They are not friends with each other, they do not get along. Basically I'm having a hard time balancing time with the two. I feel pressured to hang out with a certain friend, and when I'm with one and the other calls I always have to come up with a lie. Sometimes they'll know I'm lying and they'll get mad. They would get really mad if they knew I was passing them up to hang out with another friend. I don't want to piss off or leave behind any of my friends, but I just can't keep this up. Any advice?

Find out what ticks them off about each other, and lying isn't going to help. You should sit both of them down and have them talk it out. If that doesn't work have them understand that they both are your friends and they will have to live with that.

Re: Balancing Two Friends

I've had some what the same problem. My best friend's boyfriend and I did not go along very well. But she confronted both of us together. She told us both that she wants to be with both of us and since she can't do it at the same time, she has to do it one at a time. So, we need to understand and empathize. It needs understanding. And it works out well.
