Porn Addiction

I think my bpyfriend is addicted to porn. I've told him that it makes me uncomfortable and he's said he'll stop looking at it but he hasn't. I've caught him many times with it downloaded on his computer or it left in the dvd player and I don't know what to do. It makes me mad when I catch him just for the reason that he made the promise to me not to do it. It makes me not want to trust him because he keeps breaking his promise.

Now watching porn and being a "porn addict" are two seperate and totally distinct things. If the fact that he watches porn upsets you, I'm *not* here to tell you "Lighten up, all guys watch porn just let it go!" - It is a personal decision that you two have to come to an agreement on. I just want you to ask yourself why you *don't* want him to watch the porn; is it taking away from your relationship? I'm not advocating one way or the other, but stop and think about the reasons it bothers you and wheter or not it is warranted.

I would be upset only because he did infact lie to you ; but I think there are some underlying issues going on between the two of you that isn't being communicated clearly; he clearly enjoys watching porn (hopefully just once in a while) and because he knows it upsets you he lies to you.

Ask him why he does it. Explain why it bothers you. Hear him out; talk, communicate and express yourself. Don't just come to him flustered, and bothered and yell or beg with him to stop. Make your position clear and articulate and do as much listening as talking, and I'm sure you two will come up with something.

I'd have to say you need to end the relationship if he's not willing to bring you into his world of porn, or choose you over it.
