| Carry a Condom?
Hey all, I want to be safe as possible so I usually carry a condom in my wallet in case things heat up with a girl that I am with. I definitely try to hide from the girl that it was in my wallet because I'm sure that would upset them or make them think I'm trying to "score," but when I was talking to my friend he told me that it is actually a hazard and can make the condom not work? I'm really worried about this and was wondering if any of you guys could tell me if this is true or not. Thanks.

I don't know for sure, but I have read that carrying a condom in a wallet can damage it. The simple pressure of you sitting on it, especially with other items touching it (ID cards and what-not) can cause it to be damaged. Similarily, condoms can be damaged when left in a vehicle, so it is not safe to leave them sitting in the glove box for future use. The heat inside a vehicle can cause them to break down, and the cold in the winter can also cause them to become brittle and more likely to tear. |

it's true, probably because you'll never score before the rubber's expiration date. ooooooooooh, buh-zing! seriously, though, it will leave an embarassing circular impression that says "I've had a condom in my wallet, for years, and i've never had the chance to use it!" Other than that, it should be okay to keep one in your wallet for a few hours if you think you'll need it that night. |

Condoms are easily broken and can be ineffective when damaged. Condoms should be stored in a cool, dry place - not in your pocket or wallet. Exposure to sunlight, heat or humidity can break down latex, causing the condom to rupture or tear more easily. Condoms should last three to five years if stored properly. |
