I wrote this one morning...I was supposed to be crunching out words for an essay due the same day, but I had an amazing dream about my girl and I couldn't shake it. She was totally on my mind. So I wrote this instead.  When the end draws near, I'll be sitting by your side I'm goin't look into your eyes, whisper all is alright I won't worry about it much, 'cause worry's not worth care Your musical voice floats 'cross a breeze, and electrifies the air Stars flicker, fade, and disappear; our giant ember fades away Threatened skies sear and your eyes offer tears as dusk merges crimson with day I offer relief to sooth your grief as our home brilliantly decays Instead you shake your head and smile at the serene beauty amid disarray So embracing the girl of my dreams, I observe this breathtaking scene I'm standing behind, our Arms intertwined Absorbing the view, and cherishing you Well the end is here, I'm holding you tight I kiss your neck, shout everything's alright (In these raging winds I'm tryin' hard to stay calm, but) (You whisper into my ear and then the dream's gone...) Reminded of falling in love one day, I wake up refreshed and renewed The rest of the world can go its own way, But girl, in my heart you'll forever stay Copyright 2005 |
