First suggestion I see is instead of telling the actions in the story use words to show the actions.

For instance,

His erratic driving on the way to my friend's birthday party led me to believe the cabbie was either drunk or crazy. Tender moist lips gently brushing across my lips as I gazed into my boyfriends eyes. Tension building his lips pressed firmly against mine with a slight parting where his tongue was waiting to connect with mine.

Very rough there, but can you visualize better what is happening?

The only other thing I can think of is use more descriptive words and use all of the emotions. Did you smell his cologne, was your heart racing things like that
